Our 2011 paint collection was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who brought in their used latex paint for Second Use’s one-weekend paint collection event. In just two days, we salvaged 756 gallons of paint!

Our crew bemoans the process of pulling flooring. It’s absolutely the most labor intensive part of salvage, but one of the most rewarding. No floor is more beautiful than some old growth fir, perfectly worn in over a century of use!

We rejoice in carrying burlap sacks. And we still have them and mass quantity, as our supply is a strong as Seattle’s coffee dependency. At just $1.50 a sack, they are great for the home, garden, or crafts.

This month in 2010, we recognized our former co-worker and dear friend, Chris Foss, who had recently celebrated his last day at Second Use. He was already sorely missed, but we were excited that he was committing full-time to further growing his own business, which has blossomed and has even hosted estate sales at Second Use!

Second Use is proud to announce that we are now a U.S. EPA Lead-Safe certified firm. As of 4/22/10, federal law requires that renovation firms be certified under EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule.
